The ductility of the cubesats allows them to be used for an infinite series of missions. Minimum weight and dimensions allow multiple casts and reduce preparation times. This type of satellite is used in LEO orbit, Low Earth Orbit, for example, to reduce latency times for communications. The terrible fires that hit Europe this summer are monitored by cubesat constellations through a series of instruments dedicated to observation, but is also growing their use in precision agriculture.

Together with the Canadian startup Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC), SpaceX has planned the launch of the first advertising satellite in history. Once positioned in operational orbit, the cubesat will air ads on a screen, broadcast through a camera positioned on a self-stick. The video will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch and therefore visible to anyone.

In order to purchase the advertising space, it will be necessary to pay in cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Dogecoin, and tokens will be used to decide where to place your logo, its brightness and how long it will last for. The launch is scheduled for June 2022 by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, which will also send other cubesats into orbit.

This space advertising will be not viewable from the Earth without aid of technology, it is just to stream data from space of a display screen captured, which no one sees from the ground.
